* While still in pain and at the last couple breaths, we were motionless, it was getting colder. Xen's voice began to fade away and it became dark. This was officially it, the god appeared upon me yet again, telling me that great misfortune awaits me, and then there was a flash of light. I heard the reaper lookalike saying, "three.... scared.... insanity..... just you wait, IMMORTAL''. As I thought to myself, "What does that mean?"." Immortal"? "Three"? "Scared"? "Insanity"? What could it all mean? It was dark. All I saw was a red orb, floating. I went close to it and I heard Xen's voice. Could this be Xen's designated soul? I touched it and we were back on the ground, about to be stomped on by the golem. I roll out of the way. My wounds were all slowly healing. "Could this be what he meant?" I thought to myself then Xen shouted, "FOCUS IDIOT!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO MEET YOUR FATE AGAIN!!!!" I grabbed my scythe to slash at the golem again, actually doing damage to it this time, breaking pieces off it. It continuously kept hitting us, we still took damage, we still felt pain but we regenerated it over time. "Maybe from the zombies?". I broke the head off the golem and it collapsed. The room’s glow went off, and the center began to glow. A chest rose up and all there was in it, was a key. The chest sank and the door behind us opened again. We walked out and Xen asked, "So what are we now? Some monster?!" I said, "I think we may have been turned into some type of zombie, since we are still conscious, the pain is probably our cells dying or something, in order for us to turn into a zombie we had to die in the process." Xen replies, "I see..." We moved forward and there was another passage open, we went through it and at the end was another door but with the keyhole. I opened it up and we proceeded with caution. It was an old type of library. I looked through all the books and only one caught my attention. It talked about curses, spells, creatures, etc. A main one that caught my attention was one about containment and protection spells, it states a way to contain one's curse, to prevent further harm to others, caused by any curse. It requires an item to cover the main danger... and a sacrifice, while also drawing a ritualic sigil with blood. In the back was a skeleton of someone who passed away. It was fully clothed, it had a long cape and gloves, then I had an idea. I went out quickly and went looking for an orc, when I did I trapped it in a cage and left it there. Then I drew the ritualistic sigil with the orc in the middle and placed the clothing items on the sides. I had to kill the orc in the middle, so I did, and for safety I used a slime slash (which is a sharp liquid pressure blade for distance attacks). I killed the orc and the circle glowed red and then dimmed. I grabbed the gloves and the robe, then put them on. I then tested it by touching a plant and the plant was unharmed. I waited for my radiation to trigger and when it did I got close to the plants again and they were okay as well. I couldn't be happier. I then went to the village to see if I could ask for directions and see if I could find some guild like in the animes, “If there are any at least.”* (To be continued...)
